Hey fellow enthusiasts......I've been reading some of these forums, but haven't really located answers that are specific to my questions, so here goes.

I'm pretty sure I blew the sub on my '95 since it makes that "occasional fart sound" someone described, and my second concern is that my overall sound, when the system was intact, sounds kinda weak to me.

My first question is, what size is the subwoofer I have, and are there a bunch of hoops to jump thru for replacement? Do I have to remove it from the bottom or the top inside the vehicle?

As for the "weak" sound, I'm pretty sure the amp(s)? are working. I have an amp located on the driver's side of the trunk, which when I unplugged, killed the sub. Is there another amp located somewhere? I thought I saw a post that said two amps somewhere. The only possible problem I can think of (if there is in fact a problem) is, when I bought the car, it had what appeared to be a professional, handsfree phone installation done. This isn't the factory setup with the phone in the armrest, etc. This was set up for the old Motorola Micro Tac flip phone with a seperate privacy handset. I think they integrated some wiring for the handsfree feature to the factory speaker wiring. If that was the case, would it affect the overall sound output?

Overall, I'm pretty happy with the Jbl sound, including the 10 disc changer, but I wanted to check with you knowledge-able sound guys for your input. Any input is appreciated. (Sorry for the long post)

Sounds like your sub is on its way out. Make sure you pull it out and test it before buying one. But it sounds like tahts the problem.

The factory sub is i believe a 6.5inch or 8inch sub in a plastic box behind the spare tire.

The other amplifier is on the passenger side of the spare on the wall. Its actually a radio controller not just an amp.

If you really want to keep the factory system in tact you can probably get the speaker from a dealership, or get the speaker rebuilt, but there are no aftermarket name brand replacements for a factory system.

Keep us posted.
