Scratches!!

I've got a huge scratch on the passenger door of my Continental. I need to know what is the best scratch remover I have heard some bad things about some scratch removers it hurts the paint. :eek: Any opinions would help. smile.gif

A good rule of thumb is that a scratch that catches your fingernail when rubbing over it will not buff out. I really have a hard time believing some of the scratch and ding removers on TV. If you can pass your nail over the scratch with no resistance, it will most likely buff out. Use a rubbing compound safe for clearcoat finishes and you should be able to get it out. If not, your local Lincoln dealer should be able to order you a tube of touch up paint for around $5-7.

I will not be as bold to say I have seen them all, but what I have seen never last very long. You have to keep reapplying the product. In my world that is not a fix but a band-aid.
