Does this stuff work? I ask because it seemed to have struck overnight. I saw ads in magazines, that cool commercial with the muscle car and race car and even Stacey David (Trucks!) talked about it too. My question is...is it worth it?

You know, I’ve been wondering about this product myself. As a matter of fact I read a very long thread about it on a BMW board just the other night and I was surprised at how many people were raving about it. But – there were enough people who posted who werenot happy with the results that I still have some reservations about using it at this point.

I think the decision to use it may break down to how anal you are about your car. ;) For myself, with a black car that I tend to be somewhat compulsive about, I don’t know if I’m ready to try it even though it would make life a lot easier since I have bad back/neck issues.

If we’ve got a brave soul who wants to try it out and report back, here’s a link to some COUPONS (http://www.startsampling.com/sm/4261/).

Happy washing!

Hi All

There aint no substitute for elbow grease and a pot of old fashioned wax, if you want a good shine on your car, these products are like "get rich quick schemes" they never work.

Hey guys this thing does work okay..I have a 97 Connie. if you have a good wax job on it ..it works much better..my son bought it for me and he has one too..his car is black and does it ever work on a dark finish like that..heck the windows alone dry off beadless and with no water marks at all..and the soap does not seem to take away any of the wax you put on..so what do you have to loose..especially like I said on a nice dark red or maroon maybe..when he ordered his they gave him two for one price..works nice if you have some " honey do`s" around the place and you still want to do it all..hehe..good luck...Bob smile.gif

I ordered the coupons and they take 8 weeks to receive. Still haven't gotten mine yet so I just went out and bought one. Basically all it does is uses the "PUR" water filter to get out the minerals and stuff that leave the waters spots. It does work but if you have a home water filtration system it shouldn't make that big of a difference. I am very pleased with mine cause my local water has a ton of stuff in it and is awful about leaving spots. I have washed my car with it once and it worked wonderfully. After It dried I put on a good coat of wax and was off. The only thing in the washing part it replaces is the bucket that gets dirty. You spray on the soap and use your old sponge/wash mitt to sudz up the car and rinse it and then turn on the filter and rinse again. Then wait for it to dry without a spot. :D

Silver, do you have a Canadian Tire out in BC?
They have them as a kit for $29 CDN...

We have a built-in pharmaceutical grade RO system, I'll have to try washing a fender with the water to see if it works.

When our kitchen sink faucet was being replaced, I washed may hands with the RO water and it felt like the water was softened. Hands felt slippery/soapy even after several rinses.
Might have the same results on TC.

Not sure I want to give up the convenience of my local car wash though.

Sure do. Every second block ;) . I was gonna check it out there first because not many other places around here will sell it at thier price. I'm thinking of trying it out because the positives I here outweigh the negatives. Plus I have a Silver car so I can get away with it :D .

Just washed the Aviator, Mark VIII, and my Cougar the old fashioned way this weekend. I find the water in Houston to be okay on the hard water spots if you don't wash the car in harsh sunlight (i.e. not at noon) and follow up with a wipe with an artifical chamois.

The chamois is $10 at autozone, lasts for years, and after you wipe the body once with it, no water spots! Makes more financial sense than the Mr. Clean system, and lets you enjoy the "American Luxury" styling of your Lincoln at the same time.

Yes, I got nothing better to do than wash my cars. ;)
