parking lights/turn signal

how do you get the parking light/ turn signal cover off. i found two screws that hold the header panel on but that led to a dead end. and also i have a 89 lincoln towncar and i want the clear corners from a earlier town car. they should fit without problem right?

this information is greatly appreciated if anyone can help.

Is your parking light/Turn signal query about a 90s Town Car?

I always liked the clear praking light/turn signal lamps of the earlier Town Cars, I don't know why they changed it for only one year, as far as I know they are a direct replacement either way.

its for a lunch box (89' lincoln town car). yea it was the only year that came with amber lenses and the lincoln logo on the grill. im looking to switch out both of these for 88' model lenses and grill. i think they will fit with no major modifications.

wow, almost a week and no replys, i guess the appearance forum isnt as popular as the main forums. i know someone has had to replace their turn signal light :(.

I have never taken the parking lamps out of a 80's TC so I had a look in my shop manual and it doesn't tell you how to get them out.

The only help I can give you is it looks like the the lens is part of the lamp assembly, so you will need to replace the whole lamp, I would geuss there is going to be two nuts (one at the top and one at the bottom) behind the lamp securing it to the fender.

I forget how they come apart exactly, they were a pain though. I believe you have to remove the little piece of chrome underneath the lights that goes around the bottom of the light before you can remove it. Member Lincolnmania knows for sure, and I'm no help without my manual.

Also those clear ones cost way too much at the factory, about 70 bucks a piece. I wanna switch to clears too.. :mad:

yeah the factory sucks, i went to my local lincoln dealer for a reservoir jug and she told me 95.00 bucks with a straight face.

ill just visit the local "recycling yard" and find a pair or just wait until someone parts a lincoln out.

i kind of figure the chrome bezel would just pop out or slide out but im not seeing it happen like that (damn ford :mad: too many bolts.) may just get the corners and grill and let a body shop worry with it. :D
