Has anyone actually used "Leatherique"? I plan to use the restorer and cleaner this spring and was hoping someone could tell me if it's as good as I've heard. smile.gif

Leatherique (http://www.leatherique.com/)

I used Lexol on the '90 model and I would say the leather is better than most 14 year old cars but this Leatherique stuff is supposed to be the best.

I would stick with Lexol or maybe Zymol. I have tried Meguiarīs and they arenīt too bad. Iīve never heard of this Leatherique stuff.

I have heard of it, but I don't know anything about it. They say its made specifically for that snooty Connolly leather, which isn't that great anyway.

I use Obenaufs leather restorer on my cars and have had good success with it. I have a few dry spots on my Mark VIII that need more Obenaufs and elbow grease before they will loosen up. It even works great on vinyl, really softened up the dash.

The price looks better, and the website certainly is!

RC ! !

I have taken it to some other folks that swear by the others and became rather upset and short with me for asking about Leatherique until I received my first order and shared it with them.

Their comments were most supprizing to me. There will NOT go back to the Lexol or Leather Food or anything else now.

from "My" limited use of Leatherique, I found the dry and hard spots on the arm rest are now quite soft. I wanted to try it on some old cardboard hard leather but can't seem to convince myself to waist any.

and YES RC it is GREAT Stuff
If you wish to try some, I will order my second batch and share it with you.

Contact our Host/Webmaster for instructions on calling me.
PS
I am not a seller or distrubitor of this, Just a very Pleased user of Leatherique.

The folks that I got my Leatherique were down in your Neck of the woods. I think in Kathy
He was very generous and shipped me my first supply with NO Funds up-front.

I will go back for more.

I just can NOT express well enough how pleased I am with Leatherique.

I would jump/shout add a web page/ add graphics bla bla bla bla

The bottom line................. Its good.
Try it.................. youll like it.

I notice that a full Gal of both the cleaner and preservative are on sale too.

If there are any others that would be intrested in trying it, I will order a full gal of each and splitting it up.

also I bet the folks I ordered my first batch from would even split it up for us and pass the discount on.

I know cheap shipping around N/Central Tejas is not that bad.

Glad to hear a good report. I ordered the 16oz package, one of each, cleaner and restorer.

Did you say there is a local distributor? I've never heard of Kathy but there's Katy near Houston.

First hot day I'll slap it on there. smile.gif

The folks at Leatherique.com were more than happy to connect me with the closest supplier.
Believe it or not, you have your choice of some folks out in Witchata Falls that dont stock anything, or didnt and the folks down in Katy.

and because of their fast and friendly responce I will send them my orders again.
There are not many places or companies that I would say that about lately.

As I said in the other thread, I'll wait until warm weather to put it on the TC but for fun, I applied the "rejuvenator" on half of an old briefcase (4 years old) and will apply the "cleaner" tomorrow and take another pic of the finished product.

The goop is on the top half...

Well, it's very impressive. I let the rejuvenator set overnight and used the cleaner this morning and the leather is noticiably softer.

Leather begins drying the day its tanned. I had put Lexol on that briefcase when I bought it four years ago but nothing since and it is getting stiff.

I've used Lexol, Hyde Food and a couple of others over the years but this is the most dramatic effect I've experienced.

In fact, it may be a bit too effective. When I used the cleaner and then buffed the leather, black dye came off on the rag. Granted, the leather on a 60 dollar briefcase doesn't have to be as tough as automobile seats or even tanned and dyed the same way so I'm assuming it's just further proof of the effectiveness of the product.

I think if it were taking color off car seats, we'd have heard of it by now smile.gif If it doesn't hurt that weenie Connally leather, it isn't going to hurt the TC.

I think it's a winner based on this limited experiment and will report on how it goes with the Lincoln about the end of March.

i have 2 towncars and i use a product called TANNERY cleaner and conditioner this stuff lasts and gives the car a sent of leather conditioner that i have yet to find anything that even comes close.the sent alone makes u feel as though u are in a very expencive car.the product is made by K&W PRODUCTS i dont have a web site but do a search ull find, its not expencive same as the rest.i know whoever tries this stuff will buy more even if they use this stuff as a quick coating over something else just for its sent.it will give the leather that wet look also. tongue.gif

That leather on the sides of the briefcase looks to be bonded leather(no grain to it), that may be part of the reason that the black dye came off.
The genuine leather(to the left in your pics) would probably not bleed the black dye.
Some companies use the bonded leather on areas that don't have to be flexible, since it's less costly. Over time, the bonded leather will crack if it's flexed on a regular basis.
Not knocking your briefcase, just something I noticed in the pics.
I've also had mdse that had both types of leather, hence my comments.

Hey! That's the finest briefcase 60 bucks can buy at Office Depot, hell it's probably as high as 62-63 bucks by now!

The area I treated is a flexible side pocket and came from some sort of animal, possibly a cow. The grain is fine but there.

BTW, I gave it the ultimate test, I had my female unit fondle the brief and she instantly identified the treated section. There is no telltale tackiness as with most preparations, the "cleaner" removes all trace of the "rejuvenator", it's just noticiable softer. I look forward to doing the TC.

RC stated, quote:...I had my female unit fondle the brief and she instantly identified the treated section.

Are we still talking about the leather stuff?
LOL
Guess that's why they call it a rejuvenator.

I'll probably check out some of the Leatherique too. I know some Jag owners seem to be fans of the stuff too.

RC. Dose your female unit have a sister?
ANY WAY! Back to the task at hand. I have been looking for this anti-viagra for leather A.K.A Leatherique and I have had no luck. I want to be soft and supple too!!!!
