Thanks for sharing, Vitas. I can't seem to login there, must be workplace filters on my computer.
So what do LCOC members have to say about that car? Lincoln PR people musta had a fun time explaining/defending that car. smile.gif

The easiest thing may be to register with the group.
Short of that, I am working on it.

Oh yeah, knew I forgot to reregister with my new email. smile.gif
That black one looks a lot like the one at the NYIAS that I got to mess with in March. The only thing that I'm looking forward to is the THX audio...those door speakers are pretty neat.

Those pictures above were there when I posted them, and then later the red box syndrome appeared.
I redid the links this morning, the pictures appeared for awhile, and now they vanished again.
Any ideas?

Looks like Yahoo does not like remote linking of the pictures.
Your computer is storing the images in cache when you put the links in there, but when you go back the images are gone and you get the X. Had the same problem with my Yahoo Geocities website before I went with a paid web host.

I stand corrected! Pics are just peachy the way they are, thanks Vitas.
Showed the NYC autoshow pics to a friend of mine, they actually thought the rear end styling was the best part of the car!!!

This was the original "arse" end on the 2004 Zephyr prototype, which I thought was much nicer:

You were right. My attempt to link directly to the yahoo group link failed because they change the link, apparently for their advertising schemes.
Compare one link I took a couple of days ago to one I took earlier this morning:

Those people have more knowledge about Lincolns, and Continentals, than any of us will ever have. We can learn from them.
They probably are not familiar with increasing performance the way it is done today, with headers, heads, chips, whatever.
Maybe we can both learn from each other.
I have been to a few LCOC National meets.
They are great people to meet.

As a former LCOC member I can tell you that those guys know their stuff, regardless of their birthdate.
Heck, I hope to eventually BE one of those older guys checking out the new 2036 Lincoln Zephyr, still based on the latest Mazda of course.

That is where the trouble looms.
A Lincoln has to be MADE IN AMERICA. Last I looked, the Town Car was 90% made in America.
We can give them the 10% for the electronics.
It has to be made in AMERICA, and be an AMERICAN automobile.
Abraham Lincoln, and all that.

"The Zephyr will be built on Ford's CD3 platform. A series of cars will use this new architecture, the first of which is the Mazda 6. That doesn't mean that the Zephyr will be a badge engineered version of the Japanese-nameplate model, just that the engineering team will begin at the same starting point and diverge from there."

What that means, I don't know.

A fancy way of saying badge engineering.

Nah, the Mark LT is badge engineered. Oh man, is it EVER badge engineered! :(
The Zephyr is not. Don't hate the Zephyr because its based on a Mazda, hate it because it brings nothing new to the table over a Honda, Lexus, BMW, Infiniti, etc.

Nah I like most of the products Mazda has. Just that the Zephyr is a lame duck and really can't hold a candle to the market its trying to compete just like you said, especially for what it is going to cost and what Ford Management thinks the car can do.
Well in any event I'll be watching cars like this ,
http://img119.echo.cx/img119/3140/300srt80yz.jpg
as Lincoln slowly but surely becomes the "Oldsmobile" brand for Ford pumping out unimaginitive products.

That's precisely why I hate it. :D
I don't care if Ford wants to use Mazdas for their Ford & Mercury line, just don't give us anymore japanese-based lincolns.
Lincolns should be a step above that. Same goes for Cadillac, keep it American...or at least North American. smile.gif

Ha! Not even tempted.
Just don't bring up any Lexus/Lincoln scenarios, I'd hate to have to hijack this thread.

I forgot what LCOC stood for when I made that post   but I know now. In any event, the car looks hideous from all angles. I think sales will drop in a couple of years as will the Mark LT blah blah blah. We all know what's going to happen. Why keep reitterating the obvious. We Lincoln owners were catered to by the company for decades but now they sold out. But I like old cars anyway :D

No, that's the one I started about 5 years ago. It merged with LoL. ;)
And you are right Franco, all the HP in the world can't hide the tinny doors and clumsy styling of that tarted up Mazda. But it was worth a shot.

Loud and clear Vitas!
The "crack" club comment was meant for SC(Ron).
You'll understand this better after you've seen more of his posts on here. smile.gif
My bad, I should have used quotes from his post in my reply.

Even if you had the entire name, your search would be an act of futility...unlisted.
Btw, what would a cannuck be doing with a Houston TX white pages?
Hmmm, may have to forward this one to the Dept. of Homeland Security. :D
And don't be calling Pro. He's an agent for the gov't. Just not sure which govt yet. tongue.gif
