Has anyone heard what the Next Generation Aviator will be like?

I hope it doesn't look like the concept. That thing is ugly. I wouldn't want one. The first Aviator looks so much better. Plus, it's a real truck. If I ever got one, I'd plop in an Explorer transfer case for low range and I'd be set.

Sorry, the new Avi is based on the Zephyr, no way anything Explorer related would fit there. I am moving this thread over to the new "CD3" chassis forum. :)
I personally like the new Aviator, looks like a big Honda CRX.

Well, I meant the old Aviator for the transfer case swap. I'd take a Zephyr and mod the hell out of it before I ot a new Aviator. ;)

It's interesting looking, but styled a bit too much like a coffee bean. A couple of corners might do nicely, but then again I'm not an automotive designer.
I'm actually diggin' the interior pic. It doesn't appear quite as roomy as I would expect, though if this is really based on the Zephyr then I suppose I shouldn't expect Town Car roominess?
More importantly, I love the Security Warning on the dash - complete with the camera crossed out, I'm glad they took a picture of it! Are these shots supposed to be in public domain yet?

You can bet that headlight is the new Avi's..and that drawing of its adaptive headlights is pretty close to what it will look like from the front.

I agree that the concept look is decidedly different from what I'm used to. Correct me if I'm wrong, but does it not remind you of a Chrysler Pacifica??
I love the technological innovations though, which Lincoln is famous for.
I'm sure the real vehicle will be toned down from the concept, as it's one thing to create something in foam, but quite another to build it for real.

From a sales point, it's prefect!!! Think about it. It will be direct competition for the Lexus RX, Cadillac SRX, etc. People are really going for these type of smaller crossover SUV's and the Aviator name is perfect for the class it's competing in, This could be a great success for Lincoln if they Market it right. I personally am not much of a fan of SUV's But to tell the truth I would take that Concept over the Lexus, Beamer and the Cadillac any day.

The front end of the new Aviator sure stays true to the original concept a couple of years back. Ugly. I don't mind the side and rear though. My question is how can Lincoln establish this vehicle as better than the Lexus RX which is a phenomenally selling vehicle (atleast up here). If anyone can do it, Lincoln cannot. Not a hater, just a doubter
I've only seen one commercial for the all new Zephyr and it's forgettable

I have seen the Zephyr up close and personal (since I used to sell Ford/Mercury/Lincolns) and was very impressed with its style, class and materials. I think it's an excellent vehicle for those starting into the Lincoln family, and a great value at just over $30,000.

Given the fact that an 04 Towncar Ultimate can be had fully loaded w/ only 10k on the clock for $33k retail and an 05 sig. can be had basically loaded w/ 15k for $31k I don't see the Zephyr as any Value whatsoever. You are paying the same price for a Mazda as you are for a true Lincoln. Maybe it's just me but that doesn't make any sense whatsoever. :cuckoo:
