All good points by Mr. Swan, a respected auto journalist, but WTF is up with quoting ancient horsepower numbers? It has 221hp like the Fusion.

USA Today had some good points about the Zephyr, noting that the Avalon and Passat are in the same price range, and that's tough place to be.

Lincoln engineers should raid the MazdaSpeed parts bin and turbo that Duratec. Noble M12s can be had with a turbo Duratec. Why can't this turd? And by God, why does every Lincoln, except the LS, today have seats that would be fit for a park? If you have to offer two seat options like on the VII, that means one of the seats actually works for sporty drivers.

Interesting that they didn't mention that all Zephyrs are being made in Mexico. Before the Zephyr was re-reintroduced, all Linc's came out of Wixom - now it looks like Wixom will shut down. I checked out one of these at the dealer last week when I picked up my TC, and personally, I find it too small and boxy to call a luxury car OR a Lincoln. They should have stayed with the LS or brought back the Conti, IMHO.

I hate to admit it, but the Zephyr's seats are far better than the LSs. More padding but still have good support. The last LS sport I drove was a little light on lower seat cushion padding, I was pretty disappointed. Not a problem at all in the Zephyr.

I've seen a few of these new Zephyr vehicles lately. The are so weird and Ooooglyyyyy looking. One would wonder why the heck they are so under powered, under sporty, and over priced. I can think of 5 vehicles in the same price range that run circles around that thing. Leave it to those Ford Attorneys and Accounts to, well, produce the Zephyr.

If it had a Mercury badge and the same number of unique parts from the Fusion...give it a shorter warranty and cut the price down a couple grand too...I think we'd all love it. :)
Well, we can dream about cool Zephyrs... :)

I think I just had an accident... I'll never know why but I have had and always will have a kink for Fairmont's/Zephyr's...
There's a bright canary yellow 'Mont Futura coupe that lives around here that has all the goodies including 5-lug SN95 brakes, Bullitts, fuelie 5.0L, etc.
Man I miss my old wagon... :(

I'm sure a few years from now there'll be someone like you who values the "CD3" like you do the Fox. Hopefully they'll find this messageboard soon. ;)
