An absolute waste of time and money...at least on a stock setup. I tried one back when I first got my Mark. Talked too many times with the guys at Jacobs and never saw one iota of improvement over a 2 1/2 month trial period.
Ebay it and use the cash to get a hotter coil and some MSD wires. Which, depending on the age of your current coil and wires may not show an improvement either. But at least you'll have peace of mind.

The stock ignition is more than adiquit.
A mutiple spark system might only show a small improvment in starting, idle and low rpm smoothness.
A stock motor in good tune idles smooth anyways.
For the money invested the return is not to good.
I run stock ignition with a blower and not even a problem at hi rpm.

I'm with Bluegrass. I have one of those TFI blaster coils, the generic Summit brand just because my stock coil was leaking badly and it was pretty much the same price. Couple that to a set of Ford Racing wires (same price as stock Motorcraft) and a good cap/rotor and it works quite well.

Unless your stock ignition system is failing that thing won't help at all. The stock 5.0HO coil is good for 400hp, btw.

How good are the yellow Accel coils.
They have a good reputation here & when I took one apart - the housing is just bolted - I was very impressed by its construction & rigidity

Unless you have over 400hp, they are pointless.

I will say this, though......apples to apples comparison, as in fresh stock coil to aftermarket coil, you will not see improvement.
HOWEVER, coils do get weaker over the years. Replacing a 14 yr old or older coil is not a bad idea. Since a hotter coil is not so much more expensive, might as well step up.
My opinion is that the MSD or Crane coils are desirable over the Accell.
