Curious if some aftermarket wheels from a 93 Mark VIII would interchange with the stock wheels from a 91 Connie? Same bolt pattern?

Howdy.

They should be the same. Look here:

Both cars take a 5x108mm (5 x 4.25 inches) bolt pattern. The offset appears compatable as well. Hope this helps!

I think he may be correct as I believe I remember someone talking about getting some Conti, Taurus wheels to use with snow tires so the Mark VIII wheels don't get messed up. The Conti wheels were preferred since they had the Lincoln emblem on them.

I noticed that the 93 MarkVIII has 16" wheels and tires and my Continental has 15" I see the bolt patterns are the same and offset too but how much will that affect riding and handling and I discovered these are actually the factory chrome wheels on this 93 Mark VIII, also if they do work is this going to affect the air ride and clearances when turning any interferences with tires hitting suspension or body parts?

Might be a slight difference in ride quality and it should handle a little bit better. Shouldn't give any clearance issues or anything of the sort. I didn't know the 93 was available with factory chrome? I know later ones had it but I don't think I have seen a 93 with them. Doesn't mean I'm right, just haven't seen it personally. Should just bolt up without affecting anything aside from better handling and maybe stiffer ride. A good bit of the ride part is going to be the tires you get too. Put a stiff sidewall on it and it will ride a lot harder but if you get a more flexible sidewall it will ride fine. IIRC the factory 16's come with 225/60/16's which are capable of a fine ride as experienced in the Mark. Point in case about the sidewall. I was given 4 tires that were size 225/70/15 which is pretty close to the stock Towncar 215/70/15. Turns out it was a light truck tire and it rode like a brick. I hated having to use it for a spare. With 4 of them sitting in the garage I just went to the junkyard and got a whitewall on a black rim from another Towncar and stuck the truck tire back in the trunk for an emergency.

Yeah they'll fit and not have a problem. You just need to make sure the overall height (wheel + tire) is the same between the Conti and Mark.

FWIW, late model 93 Marks had a chrome wheel option. Same directional lace pattern as the silver wheels, but they sure look nice in chrome.
