Yeah its "BAD", replace it with a "GOOD" one :D
Seriously, its toast, get an aftermarket head unit, cheaper and better.

I am curious....when you replace it with a "Good" one, will it say "Good" when you turn on the car? :D :D :D
And, unless you are concerned with keeping your car original I would go with an aftermarket cd/MP3 player as suggested.

If you want to keep your original unit, as I did with my 90TC, contact polyscroll@hotmail.com (Paul Protos). He will COMPLETELY refurbish it for $95. You pay shipping to him but not return. You wouldn't believe the things that were wrong with mine. Don't mess with local repair shops.

I'm with DB---keep it original. There are probably places in your area that do swap-outs with rebuilt units for the dealers and they'll probably work directly with the public as well. The $95 rebuild fee DB mentioned on that company sounds beyond reasonable, really.
