i was wondering if any one had pics or links to what wheels were available on these years. i have a 1989 plain jane :) the wheels have the center cap with turbine type style but not all the way to the edge of the wheel. i am assuming these are the standard wheels for low end models? thanks for anyhelp.

No those are not the base wheels, you could still get flat-disc hubcaps on Contis, at least for the first coupla years.

A cheap and effective upgrade would be Mark VIII or 1995-2002 Continental wheels. Still have Lincoln logos on them and are direct bolt in, plus they are 16x7".

here are the wheels that are on my 90 conti, my 91 conti, and my 92 cougar. I like the 90 conti's best.. I put the 92 cougar wheels in there because they are the same wheel with a different centercap, and they don't have snow in them, so you can see it better.

excuse the snow, its a hazard I live with.... neither lincoln is drivable at this time, thats why they are covered in snow

1st is the 90, then 91 , then 92

michigan...
snow ? i know new jersey not as bad .. but today we are getting 8 more.
on the wheels, i have the center pic on my 89, but i like the far left one you have. it has more of a luxury look to it. thanks for the pics.

I moved 18 inches of snow from the wheel area of the 2 lincolns in order to get them shots... when I left for work this morning, had 4 fresh, wet slimy inches, and more comming down...

the 90 has about 12 on its roof, the 91 about 8. the cougar sits under a carport type of affair, backed in, because on the occasion we drive it during the winter, it needs all the help getting moving it can (very little snow gets to the back of the car)

I too like the look of the cougar's and 90's wheels. I will be putting the 90's on my 91 as soon as I can scrounge up $ for some rubber.

Those centercaps on the Cougar's wheels are gonna be worth some $$$ in a decade or two. Gotta love Ford's anniversary editions. :)

I've seen the 1991's wheels in polished form, they are my favorite of the 88-94 Contis. Wouldn't mind a set of them for drag tires and skinnies for my Mark VIIII.

Pro, those are not the anniversary editions. I was missing one of mine when I got it, but some enterprising neighbor kid found those for me.

I wish I had a set of 4.. I don't even know if I still have the 3

the anniversary edition has gold color in background instead of the silver if I remember right.

mark VIIII????? wouldn't that more properly be Mark IX (if it existed!)

the ones on my 91 just don't do anything for me... not because they are not polished and shiny, they just don't look as good on the car as the other do.

When the parts car and the 91 where side by side, the 90 looked so much better to me with them wheels (you of course have to ignore the near perfect paint and no rust on the parts car compared to the 91) Even dirty and covered with snow, and with ass-end jacked up in air and crunched front, the dark blue parts car is sweeeeet looking compared to my dull medium blue 91.
