Does anybody know the weight of a 1986 Continental? I can't seem to find it anywhere.

I don't own it yet. I am looking at one to buy and trying to get an idea. My guess would be about 4000 lbs but I am not sure.

They are about 3800lbs. Sorry my 83 Conti isn't with me so I can't give you an exact number.

Good it's not as heavy as I thought. I am on the verge of buying a 1986 Lincoln Continental to use as my daily driver. As a long time Mustanger I would like to tinker with it a bit and I have a few ideas. I just need some encouragement. Wife thinks I am nuts but what is new.

They're great cruisers/daily drivers. Besides an HO swap, a Baumann shift kit, tranny cooler, dual exhaust, and LSC suspension bits, including wheels, are great upgrades.

I looked at the badge on the door jam of the 1985. It lists the GVWR as 4918 lbs. Allowing for 5 adults @ 200 lbs each and the carrying capacity of the trunk, I would say that 3800 is very close. Nice daily driver. Good luck with it. :)
