Saw a Blackwood on I-95 this afternoon. Looked new, sweet! I look at one of those (few and far between) and then the M-LT. I'll take an old Blackwood anytime. It's just distinctive. I smell future collectibles here......LOL.

yep, I would take a Blackwood anyday. They are awesome trucks. Shame Lincoln doesn't seem to acknowledge it as such. I was watching the American Chopper episode where they built the Mark LT bike and they referred to the Mark LT as Lincoln's first pickup truck. Oh well, the better informed know that Lincolns true first truck is it's best.

They gotta say what Lincoln pays them to say, ya know.

I miss the blackwood. It was the ultimate FU to the world...kinda like a '59 Caddy.

Amen!!! The Blackwood was the first pickup I truly "wanted" to own. I drove a Nissan pickup for a while because I could't afford to buy anything and all I had to do to the Nissan was fix a few little things on it. The Blackwood made me really want to drive a pickup though.

Haven't driven a 'wood yet, but I drove a Mark LT. It was an awesome truck. You could really flog it like a sports car and it would enjoy the thrashing.

Umm, I mean it would be an awesome truck if the same thing wasn't available at a Ford dealer for thousands less.

The Blackwood is a cool truck, I get to drive one quite regularly. There are about 4 or 5 around Atlanta.

Awesome truck. They only made 2000 of these. The production was over before it begun. Ford claims that they did not make the truck for mass production. They built it as a limited production vehicle to show the world that they can build a truck with all the latest high tech. The sad truth is that it was just ahead of its time and at a whopping 60K it was doomed from the beginning.

There's a few Blackwoods wheeling around southern WV. When coal booms, you see everything around here, from exotic European rides to the rarest production autos. Some folks (er, coal operators) have more dollars then sense, especially when met coal is running $60+/ton. ;)

Touched a nerve, eh? Heh heh heh. I guess we're all waxing poetic about the Blackwood. Yes, it was and is an amazing vehicle. Ahead of it's time, gorgeous vehicle. Navigator nose with unique rear panels shared with nothing else in Dearborn.

To Pro, I haven't driven a Mark LT yet. Better not let my Mark VIII know about it if I do, everyone remembers "Christine," right? LOL. I can vouch for the handling and performance of the F150 Supercrew or whatever they call the full four-door these days. It's a great vehicle.

But if I should ever be so blessed as to be able to own another Lincoln to hang onto for future fun, I want a Blackwood to sit side-by-side with the black Mark VIII. Hopefully I can get primo condition with sufficient depreciation to make it possible. The Blackwood is a more powerful head-turner then a new Bentley down here in FTL, because you simply do not see them often. Even when it was built, they were scarce enough to generate interest like "omigod what is THAT? Cool!"

I drove a 2002 Navigator, which is pretty close to a 'wood. It was a nice truck, but aside from 32v passing power it isn't gonna perform like a Mark LT does.

Course, just to set the record straight, I'd take a 'wood over a Mark LT in a heartbeat. Don't even have to think about it.

I know of a garage where a black Bentley Flying Spur and a Blackwood sit next to each other.
