alarm problems

Hey guys long time reader first post,the car 88 lsc(arizona car:) ).ok the problem is with the stock alarm.1st problem is it will go off for no reason.2nd when it does go off the horn just makes a thunk sound.3rd the keypad will lock the doors but wont unlock the doors and the all buttons work,even tried another box but the same thing happens..thanks guys

Welcome to the forum. Does your horn make the same noise when you press the steering wheel, or does it actually sound like it should? For the locks, can you lock/unlock them with the power lock buttons on the doors, or with the key in the tumblers?

I also have the same problem for my 91 lincoln. I never fixed it but the workaround for me is to not enable the alarm by not pressing the Lock button located on the inside of the door.

the horn works fine,and so does the power locks.with the keypad I can only lock the doors.and for the alarm I unplugged it for now(little box in the trunk on the right side of the amp or behind the keyless entry box).but it would be nice to find the problem..thanks
