Offhand does anyone know if the motors etc in a 90 Taurus wagon are the same as an 88 Conti.

Thanks in advance.

I've got a 90 Taurus wagon sitting in the yard, the tranny is shot, only has 1st and reverse. Same power plant as the 88 Conti, so it's being stripped on misc engine parts for the spares box. I was wondering if they are the same, if so I'll dig into the doors for the pieces, otherwise it's not worth the efort.

Yes they are the same, atleast the front two doors are the same anyway.

The rear are not a lot different.

It looks to me if you swap the left and right rear from side to side it could work. ???

Steve, looks like it is possible, but you may have to switch the polarity of the wires going to the motor (Ie, up becomes down and vice versa), but thats not a big problem if the motor bolts up right

The motors are probably the same for the windows...ALL power lock motors interchange, some have different rod lengths/designs but they interchange by releasing the lock washer on the top of the unit and CAREFULLY removing the rod and the three ball bearings.

Lose the bearings and the lock motor is useless. :)

Thanks for the info, I forgot I could just lookup the parts at RockAuto and see what the numbers are.

Time to start ripping doors apart.
