I have been gathering parts to convert my 85 cfi to mpfi. Unfortunately it was totaled the other night. I found a 87 and was wondering how much more power I could gain by using the intake and heads along with dual exhaust?

What car are you working with here, the 85 or the 87? Which intake and heads do you want to put on what vehicle?

The 87. I have the HO intake and e7 heads.

OK, cool. So you're thinking of heads and intake swap, but leaving the cam? It'll work, probably good for around 200 hp. Won't have the top end that it would with the HO cam but you'll have better than stock power and performance.

I ran my non-HO Cougar with HO heads and intake and exhaust before doing the rest. I probably had a little under 200hp, and the powerband pulled harder to 4000rpm or so. Its worth it, but its no subsititute for the real conversion. The HO cam makes all the difference in these 5.0s.
