after i parked my car and came back in the morning i noticed my coolant in the over-flow was at the full hot line and when i removed the radiator cap there was coolant missing,,,,in other words the coolant didnt get sucked back into the radiator when the engine cooled down,,,,,now last year the coolant overflowd out and was dripping on the street so i put a small hole inthe thermostat to allow the air to flow out,now i dont know if i had a leaking head gasket or a couple of bad hoses on top of engine but this is the first time the coolant didnt get sucked back into the over-flow,,,,,,,anybody got any feed back ?

Check your rad cap and if the gaskets are sticky, clean the rad sealing surfaces and replace the cap. Check the hose from the rad to the overflow bottle, any cracks and the rad will suck in air instead of coolant.
If both are ok, time for a leakdown test and ........................

BTW you had he wrong thermostat for the 3.8 engine, the factory and replacement ones have an air bleed hole in them already.

The earlyer 3.8's did not have a bleeder hole.
Have the cap pressure checked they wear out after a while.

It could be the cap. If/when you replace it, make sure to avoid the ones with the lever release handle, just get the regular (cheap) kind.
