'87 with a puddle of water in driver's side when it rains. When I shop vac it up then drive away and make hard right runs (not left) a TON more water POURS onto my right foot, right on the accel (UGH). INterstingly, this water seemes extremely cold, and I'm wondering if the A/C is somehow chilling it...
Does anyone know how I can reach drain holes behind front fenders? When I pour a quart of water down the windshield, the water does drain uner the car on both sides but still seems to collect unedr the fender tops where it should be draining..faster.
I removed top grill at base of windshield and found a ton of leaves, dirt, fuzzy insulation type stuff (mice???) but can't get into drain holes.
Do I need to remove fenders to do a complete job????
Advise apprec

If the water is cold and you have actually been using the A/C, then it's likely condensate from the evaporator. The water is collecting and then running out on those hard rights. Pick a good, hot, humid day (no rain or inside a garage) and idle with the A/C running. Look under the car for the normal drip from the evaporator. If it doesn't show in 10 minutes or so, I'd say your drain is plugged. It will likely be worse on rainy days as then the relative humidity is at 100%.

I will guess that it could be partly to a clogged drain hole.
If I resd this right, You poped the trim off from around the windshield, correct?
and you saw a build up of crud. Did you clean the crud out?
I am wondering if you do not have a rust hole somewhere around the windshield that is allowing water into the interior of the car.

Thanx guys
Steve, I removed trim from around the windshield, base of windshield etc. Cleaned out pine needles, leaves, dirt, etc. I see rust, but no rot/perferations. Again, I can see/feel more gook inside tops of fenders but can't reach even w/ coat hanger etc. Again, not sure if I have to remove fenders to completely clean out drain holes.
Shrews...Hmm, come to think of it, not I don't recall seeing any condensation puddles under the car...where is the drain hole for evaporator? Maybe I have 2 problems...from the same source (debris clogging up the drains).

My fox Cougar does that too. It also has a weak blower motor, which I assume makes things worse (restricts cooling to the cabin).

Look under the hood where the a/c lines go thru the firewall. Below those you might find some sort of black plastic fitting sticking into the engine compartment, that would probably be the condensate drain fitting. On the 88 fwd Conti a big wiring harness ran right in front of the drain and could cause it to block up.
