My 95 Conti oil pan has rusted out so badly that I now lose about a quart of oil per week. At first I thought is was a leaky plug, but now after tightening the plug and upon closer inspection, I can see the oil seeping out through the layers in the rust. Right now, I'm just keeping my fingers crossed hoping to avoid catastrophic failure. Anyone had this problem before? I found a new oil pan online for $105, but don't want to do this job myself because it requires removal of the front exhaust. How much can I expect to spend in parts and labor if I ask a reasonable shop (not the stealership) to do it? $300? $400?

Given that a new pan is approximately $100 then I would think about an hour in labor would put it on. Gasket, pan, any other consumables, and labor should run about $180-$200.

Man that stinks. Ill have to look at mine, I have never heard of that problem before. I dont know how hard it is to remove that fron exhaust manifold.crossover pipe, etc. but just call around for estimates.

I'd bet on 2 hours of labor, at $75 an hour, maybe $150 total.
Oil pans on V8, FWD cars is no simple chore I'm sure.
