Left front air strut BLEW out, not deflated, blew out. Ordered new ones from Stutmasters. While taking the thing apart, found the wires for the left front actuator broken off flush at the actuator. Is this wiring harness a dealer only part or is there an aftermarket supplier? Thanks for any info . BTW it's a 92 exec

Yes, it's on top of the strut, under the plastic cover. All 4 wires are broken off flush at the actuator.

let me check my 90 parts car, to see if its 4 wire or not.. I have one I can send ya if it is.. do you need the actuator, or just the wiring harness/connector?

I'm not sure if the harness unplugs from the actuator. I only took a quick look. It looked like the wires were attached to the actuator, with a plug near the firewall. If it's all one piece I'll need the whole thing. Another thing, the new parts came, (thanks Strutmaster!!), the little needle is not in the top of the new struts. I assume I will need to remove it from the old strut.

I will get out to look at my parts car probably late sat... I know the actuator assy can be removed from the strut in the fronts, but not the rear.
I will see what is what, and if you need the little needle, I should be able to do that too.

I have the needle, I'm just not sure what it does in relation to the strut. Is the car driveable without the actuator? I was hoping I would be able to charge the system, then shut off the switch in the trunk. What do you think?

yea, should be drivable... the actuator is for the variable shock damping.. it may ride/handle a little funny if the front shocks are set for different damping, but it should be drivable
Once I get the actuator out of the parts car, I will take notes or a pic and let ya know how the needle goes into the strut

does anyone know how the needle comes out? I don't see any threads in the new strut. I don't want to pull on it too hard and damage it.
