Hi everyone,
I just purchased a '02 Continental CE (w/ suede seats). It is my first time having suede seats and am not sure on the proper care of these seats. What have you other guys who have suede seats tried? What has worked well? My seats aren't soiled, just need a maintenance clean-up, but if they were to get soiled what sould I used in that case too?

Thanks for any help I can get. :D

A google search on cleaning suede will get you lots of info, but the best bet is take it to a pro, or remove the seat covers and take them to a pro. You can do more damage in 60 seconds than you care to believe.

I think it might look like another one I have seen on here, but not to sure who.

They are suede inserts on the CE.

You can buy suede cleaning kits at most any good shoe store. It consists of an eraser looking thing and a fairly stiff brush to get the eraser stuff off the suede. Have used them on shoes with much success. Never thought about on seats but might just work. Only one way to find out.;)

I've heard that using a leather protectant like Scotchguard (spray on) is good, but can discolor the suede.

I 3M Scotchguarded my old suede jacket once, it helped resist stains (and water, which really screws up suede) and didn't mess with the color.

They also make a product for suede shoes that is an aerosol spray can and is a silicone sealant IIRC. Works well at keeping water off of it. My stepdad used to use it on his cowboy hat and my fiance has used it on suede shoes and purses with good results. Will have to try to find the name.
