According to the spec sheet, a 5-speed stick is an option too!

Interesting. From the interior pics it looks most like a 98-99 model.
I wonder why they don’t use the “updated” interior?

At least they're building it with Ford. I guess it wouldn't be a huge surprise to see some factory over there tooling up knocked off parts and making their own "pirated" version. . .
Interesting to see them making cars without really making them. Their "2004 Luxury Sedan" sure looks like a late-'80s/early '90s Audi reborn!
One thing I can always say about Asian car styling. . .
DERIVATIVE!

Audi sold them the tooling back in the mid 1990s.
Its based on a 1998 TC for sure...I wonder if we can import one here with the 5-speed and all. At least the Panther Lincoln lives on somewhere else.

The only difference in the interior I could spot with our 98TC is the chromed wiper stalk and the logos, and of course the missing Cartier stuff. :)

The seats look like a signature series too.
Gotta say, I like that car. :)

and the interior rear view mirror...how could you miss that? :D
Wheels look like somthing off a Grand Marquis.
on a side note:
I rented a 8pass TC limo last week and noticed it had a normal non auto dim rear view mirror.
interesting....
What really caught my attention was the “17.0 avg mpg” on the instrument cluster…..not sure how thats even possible  I'm getting mid 18s myself.

The steering wheel is from a facelift 03 model. The stalk is the same as a 97 MY. I see the engine picture shows an all plastic inlet manifold.
Limos dont need an auto dim mirror as the rear view mirror is virtually useless anyway. 17 MPG from a limo is possible, in fact there not that much thirstier when well maintained and driven carefully than a normal car.
Overall - Good looking car I think

Actually the steering wheel looks the same as in my old 98 signature series.

Doesn't quite match the one in my 03 TC. (Omit the wood on the 03) The wheel looks more like the 98 with the smoother surface and placement of the horn symbols.

Also the rearview mirror does look the same as the Auto Dim one in my 03. If you look closely you can see the Auto/Off button between the two sensors on the bottom of the mirror.

And as Henry Ford said, it is available in any color as long as it is black.

But I'm up for adding the flag brackets to my TC. (Of course, stretched would make it look even better...)

Don't see it can have much performance with no bigger than a 2.4L engine...even with a 5 speed manual.

Hi Guys
Anyone want to go into business with me selling modified intakes to the Chinese?

Sure, lets have a Chinese backyard factory employing school age children crank out about 100 of them a day for about $5 each, and sell them on eBay for $200 each to the Chinese people in their "Rinkin Tun Caaas"

Apparently the Town Car is not dead just yet. I read in Car & Driver last night that Ford will move Town Car production to Canada (along side the other panther products) and continue to build it (for how long they didn't say).

Ford is moving the Lincoln Town Car to St. Thomas Assembly Plant in Canada.
The Town Car will be built alongside the Crown Victoria, Grand Marquis.
TC LIVES ON!

Trust me, the Town Car lives on, In Toronto, you don't see any Crown Vics for Taxis and such, they all use T/Cs.

Ford at one time had considered ending production on Lincoln's flagship model after the planned closing of the Wixom Assembly Plant in Wixom, Michigan in 2007. Ford ultimately decided to keep the model and move assembly to the St. Thomas Assembly Plant in Ontario, Canada where the Ford Crown Victoria and Mercury Grand Marquis, which also use the Ford Panther platform are currently built. The Town Car's manufacture will resume at its new location in late 2007.[4]
