Problems 1-4 is usually a dirty connection on the back of the gauges. See this:

On the brakes, Steve Moran once said that the rear brake lines are known to collapse after 10+ years, have them checked/replaced.

oh, my brakes are spongy and if I need to stop quickly it will not stop. It does stop if I have enough time otherwise it does not. I am told there is air in the back brake line, but noone seems to beable to fix this problem. What do I do?

When you take it in to have the brakes checked ask them to try to bleed the line from the connection before the hose and not at the bleeder, if they get fluid at the steel line then the hose is bad.
In addition, they need to check to see if the caliper is frozen or rusted in place, when the rear brakes quit functioning, they have a habit of seizing up in the slider pins.
It could very well be in your best interest to have the brake lines flushed clean with new fluid when this is being done.

The people you have working on your car just need to decide they want to diagnose the problem so they can fix it.
