This has been bugging me for a while and thought I'd post here and see what you gays/gals think. My 01 Continental's wipers are pretty dang slow. During anything more than a light rain, the wipers can barely keep up even on Hi. I have an 01 Taurus as well and the wipers on that car extremely fast. In fact, the conti's wipers on HI are the same speed as the Taurus wipers on Low.
I'm thinking I may take a video of the wipers on HI just so you can see. I've tried new blades, making sure the windshield doesn't haven't any crap on it and they're still slow. Any other ideas?

You could test the resistance of the electric motor compared to your Taurus, or just replace it.
I've never heard of motors going bad, but hey, it can happen.

Do the wipers speed up from low to med then high?
If they do not speed up I would wonder if the switch is bad?

The wipers are slow on InTech Continentals. I can't see anything in a downpour at speed. I wonder if it was part of the designed for retirees mission of the car. They certainly tuned the stereo and sound deadening for deaf ears. I would think changing the motor to a different one or changing the gearing would be your best bet in speeding up the wipers.
As a side note, Trico's winter wiper blades have a tendency to lift above 80 MPH or so and they don't fit the curve of the screen worth a damn. Very, very nasty wipers.
