My 84 kept stalling out today:( . It stalled three times in the parking lot just standing there, and one time idleing in the street. The car was cold in the parking lot, if it can get cold in Houston right now, and warm when it stalled on the road while at a stop light. The car has always had a rough idle I think, I mean I cant compare it to anything becuase I never drove the car new. Plug wires and cap and rotor are fiarly new. TFI module, Fuel Pump?
Thanks, Nick
I just dropped the car off today to get the whole thing pianted like new, I cant wiat to see it done. when it gets back ill throw my spare coil on it.

check the idle air control valve. Its a little different on the throttle body style motor but should be there.
also check and see if one of the wires or plugs you put in is possibly not firing correctly.
Is it running erratic or just stalling for no reason. does it stuble at idle?

Check the fuel pressure at the valve on the back of the CFI assembly. If you're not getting 30-40psi, that's your problem. It sounds like heat is taking its toll on the fuel pump, but the pressure testing will show that.

Yes it stalls irratic, and seems to even stumble latly while cruising at 55 or so. Its like it just looses power and comes back. Thats not as noticible though. It has lost some high end power but thats probaly cause my plugs are gapped ot .045.
