Well, that coulda been ugly!
I'm outisde hooking up my electric fuel pressure gauge and my friend Vinny stops by to shoot the shit. He notices that one of the ribs on the serpentine belt is sheared completely off...nylon flapping in the wind on a now 5 rib belt. Loosen the blower, remove the blower tensioner, remove the pulley on the stock tensioner, pull the lower pump to head bolt on PS pump, loosen the electric fans and I was able to put a new belt on it.
Putting everything back together was, of course, much harder and required 52 sets of hands, but I got it done - with a spare belt in the trunk.

I left 49 minutes before you posted this. Sorry Jerry. I did make it home ok with some minor coolant incidents. Thanks for the "just in case" number. :)

Apparently it was a bad weekend for Mark cooling systems. Of the VIIIs one guy had to get his radiator replaced, I had a loose clamp and another lost a fan motor on the way down. Hope no one else had any trouble...

And I made it home.
Last night, about one mile from home, Mark007 and I could hear a bad squealing from under the hood. We got his Navigator out of my garage, he headed to Houston and I parked for the night.
This morning I fired it up and took it for a drive. Once it warmed up the squealing was LOUD. Got it home and got to looking.
Turns out the noise is coming from the converter/front pump area, and the noise continues for several seconds after everything visible stops spinning.
I do believe I have destroyed my converter.
And so it goes....

Took care of that before the racing... they frown on drips from under the car even from the slow guys. :)
Which one of you guys did I talk to for so long and didn't think to ask a name? Had something to do with the USMC and owns about 40 VIIs?

Blue, yup that'd be me. Of course there were 5 blues out of the 7 Mark VIIIs that showed up, mine is drillers' ugly sister or the dirtiest one with FL plates. For the MTV generation, if you saw a guy that looked like Phil in a flannel shirt over by the VIIIs that was me. I spoke briefly with one fastpizzaBoy as he was coming in the gate but I guess the rest of you guys were in the lanes while I was wandering around visiting.

After I left the interior lights of "TOTALLED" on friday night, it got down to freezing and knocked my battery out. Eventually we got it jump started and checked out and it charged back up. Ran three runs at the track bone stock w/best time 15.8 @ 88.8mph. First half of the trip back home on sunday I got the worst Interstate gas mileage ever and it was on higher test gas than the usual 87-not a clue here! Great time-and NEXT year.....

Won't see those at this event.... too cold every year I've been there for any girl I ever met to run around dressed like that. You're looking for the Fun Ford Weekend event in Orlando. ;)
