Trying to help my nieghbor out, he bought an 01 explorer and doesn't know the keypad code. I looked around the rear hatch area but didn't see any door codes like on my Mark VII. Anyone know where I might find it?

Remove the plastic jack compartment panel in the luggage area. You will have to look as far forward as possible right above the wheel well. Use a flashlight to look for a plastic box with a sticker on it....the sticker has the code printed on it ;)

right on! Did this for a friend who got one second hand and didn't get the code card in the owner's portfolio. Make that a BRIGHT flashlight and maybe a small mirror...hehe! I got on the computer and printed out a code card for him to stick in the portfolio and programmed in a personal code too. Too easy- ever since the first keypad in 1980, it's been factory code + 1/2 + 5 digit personal code + 7/8 & 9/0 to exit system.....why mess with it if it's not broken :)

the keypad is a lifesaver for anyone who habitually locks their keys in the car, also nice if you have a group of people that meet back at the car at separate times...nobody's stuck out in the cold.
