Hey i have four stock rims with tires, In Great Condition. From a 1999 lincoln towncar sig. I dont know how much too sell them for and if i should they're just at my house sitting down for like 1 1/2 months since i bought the car from a private seller. Hes had them off for a long time because he put the 20" dyablos. So when i bought the car he gave me the stock tires with rims and stock cd player that is also laying in my trunk with no use.
So anyone know what should i sell the stock tires and rims for? and the stock Cd player for?
Thanks, i didnt know where to put this. So i put it in the forum i'm always in.....

I'd say you'd be doing good to get $50 for the stock cd player and $400 for stock wheels and tires. You'd be real lucky to get that much for either but it's not unheard of.

Shipping for the rims and tires will kill you. You may get $400 TOTAL, including shipping. Which means, $250-300 for them before shipping.
For that price, I would keep them. If you get any kind of bad weather in CA where you are, you want to take those 20s off during the winter anyway.
EDIT: I just checked Rand McNally, I reckon you don't EVER see snow there!

I have 20s on my Town Car. I assume you are talking about the difference in the calibration of the speedometer, because otherwise the rims don't affect the speed of the car at all.
The height of the tire's sidewall makes all the difference. My tires are less than an inch taller than the factory, so my speedo is off just a little. 75 MPH on the cluster is about 80 MPH when my wife paced me in the Grand Voyager.
So, my difference is less than 7%.

My rims weigh 75 pounds each, and they do not "slow down" the car. Granted, it puts extra unsprung weight strain on the disc brakes, and probably requires more horse power to maintain 75 MPH, but the extra weight will not affect a powerful beast like a Town Car!

Claudio, if you decide to sell your cd player for $50 please let me know. I'm not too far away from Sylmar so i can pick it up myself.

cool cause my friends always tell me "your car is bad, it burns rubber even with rims." They dont know that i turn off TRAC though. so if i put in the stock wheels it wont be faster then with rims?

But the thing is, big tires weight more and it wouldn't give you the same performance numbers if you have the orginal tires. From what I remember, my mark VIIIs tires weighted 44 pounds. Lets say that the TC rims weights 50 pounds. That means you have 100 pounds more with your 20s on. I am sure that you would get better track times without that 100 Pounds.

Well i was looking for a stock in dash cd player. What you have there is the same tape player that's already in my car, not a cd player.

Hey Roadrunner,
Are you aware that our TCs are already wired for a CD changer? I purchased a 6-disc CD changer from a member here for $30. You just need to retrieve the wire hidden in the trunk and plug it in. You should be able to pick one up on eBay for $50 or less.;)

in dash ones were in the 03+ Lincoln Town Cars, so you wouldn't find one for a 98-02 Lincoln town cars

Thanks & yes i know my radio is cg changer ready but i still like the in dash ones, however i did not know they make these only for 2003+ models. I suppose cd changer option is the best one for my car then.
Thanks for the advice.

Well, if you are going for track times, then there probably is a difference in the weight of the rims versus factory. But if you are just talking about "faster" as in, "Hey, I put on these 20s and now I can't even hit 85 MPH on the interstate!" then the 20s will have no effect at all.

Once again, what you have is a factory head unit that plays tapes. Having the function of controlling the CD changer does not make it a CD player.

i thought having 20's will make its HP or speed and time more slower getting to 60....is that true im not saying it wont hit 85....as i have so many times just if its slower getting to 85 because of the added weight....

yes, having 20s on will make your 0-60 time slower.

Well, of course any extra weight will affect 0 to 60. You are talking about your acceleration, then, not "How fast it is". Well, I reckon the two are used interchangably to some degree.

Yea, the stocks will speed you up some but dont waste your time b/c you wouldnt notice in all likelyhood. Check ebay for prices, it depends on the style of the rim.
