Looks like the Zephyr's competition has a host of unhappy owners. :)

I'm hearing the guy from the Vee-Dub commercial, "Oh, Snap!" That sucks for Lexus, although I have a feeling it won't really make a dent in their stellar reputation.

I hate jap cars and always will, you can give me 50 billion reasons why they are better and I will just laugh. Here is what I learned in life, If you want a real car, 1. Make sure its a ford product 2. Make sure it has a V8 and is rear drive. thats about all you have to know about getting a real car, even with the V8 using more gas I spend a LOT less in the end on maintenance and get more out of the cars then with any other vehicles. Lexus is a joke and the Town Car will always be the king of luxury

That's absolute brilliance. I'm sure your opinion has great influence on the business model of both Ford and Lexus...and I'm sure their standings in the market reflect your opinion too.

I really don't care if it sounds brilliant or not Iam just fed up with other makes of cars and I feel strongly about that. it seems all the japanese can do is copy everybody else and make things better and just about every person I know has this japanese cars last forever attitude and Iam plain sick of it.

We've had nothing but good luck with our Lexus. We did receive 2 letters in the mail from Lexus regarding our RX300. The first extended our engine warranty to 100,000 miles or 10 years due to a reported sludge issues. The second extended our transaxle warranty to 100,000 miles or 10 years do to reported failures.
I've never received such letters from Ford for any of the vehicles I purchased from them, even though some have suffered from engine failure at 35K miles (Windstar 3.8L), and transaxle failures at 20K miles (Escape 3.0L). In fact, I've had to take Ford to court to get my money back on the Escape. The Windstar; I taped together all 17 work orders from the first year and trailed it from the lobby into the dealer managers office and demanded they fix it; which they did.
Sure, Lexus is not perfect, nor is Ford or any other manufacturer. The difference then becomes; who will stand behind their product when the going gets tough and who won't.

I have had letters from Lincoln for the warranty and had the letters for the oil change and that kind of stuff. The Town cars Built quality is as good as lexus, I have no noises coming from my town car and it has 70,000 miles. I think TC was always built better then any other Lincoln. My Continental is the worest in quality because noises comes when driving and the Mark VIII is the same. They are not bad cars but they just give noises that the TC doesn't

Town Car has a full frame. That’s why you don’t have any rattles or noises. FWD continentals and Mark VIIIs are uni body. These uni bodies start to flex with time and make all kind of noises imaginable. My 97 Mark does the same thing. That’s why they have a JBL surround sound for :D
