I know that we have a tech article for the Front brake upgrade for the Conti's - but does anyone know about upgrading the rears as well?

I know that SHO guys have done that too. Wouldn't be surprised if the caliper/bracket/disc from a Mark VIII is an upgrade.

The rear caliper/bracket/disk from the Mark VIII is the same as the 93-99 Taurus with rear disks, save that the MK8 has vented rotors, but they are still the same thickness as the ones on the Taurus. Not the fronts though as that you would lose your parking brake.

I'm not sure if the conti has bias valves in back, but I would think it does. You can get plugs for these valves which would give the rear more braking pressure (Make sure your ABS is working)

Or you can get adapters that mount the caliper bracket farther out from the knuckle which will allow you to run either 11.6s or 13" rotors in the rear. For that if you have an 88 to ~93ish conti (with 1" thick rear rotors) then you have the correct calipers to accept the thicker rotors that come with the upgrade. If you don't then a bracket is made to bolt to the newer knuckles and still use the older style vented-rotor-acceptable calipers.

And of course always pads.
