Well, I thought the fuel pump was bad as was discussed in another post, and was preparing to shell out around 225 dollars to have it replaced (parts and labor). After I got my paycheck, I had it towed to a service station about 2 blocks away from me, (no charge for towing:) ) and he told me he'd check it out first. I got a call today, and he said, " ...the pump is fine, just the ground wiring for the computer was loose." So, for about 30 dollars i'll be back under the wheel.
Thanks, Dave.

Nice. you never know, could always be something simple like that. I had issues once with my computer wiring also in the past and took forever for someone to figure it out. In my case, I kept stalling. There was corrosion on some wires to/from the computer that were losing contact now and then.

Must be something specific to the Towncar cause I had the same exact problem. Thanks to the back alley young mechanic that took a peek at my car before I turned it into the mega money mechanics.

good for you. i literally spent hundreds among 3 different mechanics who were just "throwing" parts at me and guessing till it was finally figured out. I guess it is a combo of the location of the computer collecting moisture, causing corrosion and of course old age...
