I figured I'd ask you guys this since your also stuck with the 5.0 SO as well. I'm swaping a 5.0 HO with GT-40 iron (GT-40 NOT GT-40P) heads into my T-bird in the spring. I'm wondering if since you guys have the same 65 lph fuel pump if you had any issues with the stock pump after the swap. On the fox T-bird/Cougar board they're telling me I need a new fuel pump for the swap. In your tech section the article about the swap says that the stock fuel pump should work fine. I was just wondering if you guys have any first hand experience with this. Thanks in advance for any help.:)

My HO was never starved for fuel.

If the pump is in good shape it should be OK, if it seems to be running lean on the top end, just replace it with a higher flow one for a Mustang or something but I've seen multiple HO conversions / swaps without a fuel pump change and no problems. Mine detonates a bit at high RPM if I hold it, and the temperature climbs. I'm suspecting it might be going lean on me but I haven't checked it with a fuel pressure guage. My pump is also 20 years old and has 155k miles on it. New pumps aren't that expensive and its not that big of a job to swap if you do need to do it.

My pump went for a crap last year in the TC, and I replaced it with a 155lph unit from my Mustang.
I'm literally in the middle of my HO swap at the moment (car is appart in the garage) so I'll let you know how it works out.
