Hi,
I have the Haynes manual for my '89 Town Car but would like something that is more model specific. The Chilton manual also seems fairly broad in the models it covers. Anyone know where I can get a shop manual that is specific to only the '89 TC or at least more specific Haynes and Chilton?
Thanks,
Micetic

Hm, the 89 manual adds the powertrain information. My 86 manual is body, chassis, electrical only. No powertrain info.

Well, I bought it, so I will let you know how good it is as soon as I get it.

Hi Gadget
Up to '88 Powertrain and Body shop manuals came in two volumes, starting in 89 there were made into one, the 88 manual is blue and the 89 manual is red.

Well Joedogg,
I got the manual in the mail today and must say it is fantastic. Everything is layed out with great detail and it is exactly specific to my '89 TC. Thanks again Joedogg, if you want any pages scanned, let me know.

I'll keep that in mind! Glad to know it worked out for you. I'll buy one for my '87 one of these days, I don't even have the Haynes yet (Yes I know I know, I need one). The Haynes for these cars is actually very well done. The one I had for the '93 skylark (including several buick, pontiac, and oldsmobile vehicles ranging from the years 1985-1997 or so I believe) was a piece of junk.
Guess you can blame ford's wonderful tendency to keep things wonderfully consistant. At least to a point.

I am not so sure about the Haynes manual in this case. I got it when I bought the car and for certain things, say differential maintence, it is sufficient, but anything to do with the interior, for example, is terribly vague.

I would imagine the interior would be. The engine is very good.
I also should get one of those shoppies.

Well, if you are in quick need for a repair, just let me know and I can scan some pages and post/e-mail them for you.
