I don't have a picture, but the tech article (http://www.lincolnsonline.com/tech/00117.html) does a good job of telling you how to repair. The cowl vent is the slotted vent below the windshield, I figure you know that already, so what exactly do you want a picture of?

I took my car in and it's the cow vent leak that's leaking. The cowl vent is where your vents suck in fresh air for the passenger compartment.

I went to tons of places and they all wanted like $300 or more to fix it. I went to the hardware store and bought clear automotive silicon and took the plastic guard at the bottom of the windshield off (really easy) and sealed up everything and it hasn't leaked since. It took maybe an hour to do everything. Make sure to put silicon anywhere that looks like it could leak (you'll see foam in spots and that's where the water is leaking in because the foam is going bad)

Here's some pictures I took, notice the screws around the area where the vent is in the engine...those screws you have to loosen up and just pull out the foam (you'll see it) it's kind of a pain but then once the foam is out you can fill all of it with sealer, tighten it up and let it dry and no more leak! As you can see I have a lot of sealer in there.

I thought you had to take the tray completely off to silicone around the air vent. You show that you siliconed the gap between. ITs easier to pull the top tray and goop up and replace the tray.

Ok i see that there is a tech write up about this but it says you have to take the damn seat out and stuff! then i see this other guy showing a much easier way to fix the problem. now which one is it? can i just put up some silicone and fix this problem? and i see the picks but where EXACTLY due to caulk?

You take the seat out to get rid of the water sitting under the carpet. The silicone rubber replaces a foam gasket under the cowl vent opening. Remove all the stuff to get at it and you will see where the gaket is and you just use silicone rubber instead of the foam gasket. I did mine when I replaced the intake manifold, the foam gasket was still in good shape, but now it is embedded in a lot of silicone rubber. :)
