Hey there.... just thought to post a little spring info about our rides. This of course applies to the Mark VII. While doing a little research into suspensions/springs for our things, check out this web site "coolcats.net". It's main focus is to serve the Cougar/Tbird crowd, since it's a large Fox type car the K member, springs all interchange. Go to the Tech section/advance tech/suspension upgrade, great resorce plenty of info. Once you have the proper K member & lower A arm with cups/pockets/recesses for the springs you can use a quite a few options for spring rates. Standard ride.... V8 springs from a 83/88 Tbird/Cougar, also 80/82 would work. For those who want a sportier ride ....check out the 87/88 Sport V8, lower car about a half to 1 inch. Another sporty choice would be the 87/88 Turbo coupe, although made for a turbo 4 cly, its a really firm spring that also lower the car about a inch or so. On my 86 Continental I used Sport V8 springs, the front rides "firmly" it's not a marshmallow but that the way i like it. Plenty of suspension travel, no bottoming out. When it comes to handling air bags are no match for a firm metal spring. I'll update this thread when I install the rear springers. Cruise on.

Hey there .... I finished replacing the rear springs about a week ago then took a little trip to the Los Angeles area. The springs are from a 88 Tbird sport coupe. The ride seems to be a bit softer than the fronts, good at cushioning the rear passengers from harshness. It may also be due to the fact that rear shocks are tuned for the air ride while the fronts are tuned for a V8 Mustang. The front end sits about an inch lower than stock, while the rear end sits about stock setting. Cruise on
