driving for about a week now to work......following thought/comments on 06 navi vs 03 and previous owned.

- 06 has smaller gas tank? i go down to 30 miles left on info center, and 22 gallons to fill ? cruising range of 390 miles , thought the navi had a 30 plus gallon tank?

- suspension is tuned more like my 01 was, seems stiffer, steering much more senstive than 03.

- seats, like the highback buckets waymore than the 03 s lowback buckets.

- tranny shifting little better now, guess learning my habits.

- mpg seems to have dropped a bit , perhaps due to frigid temps here in jersey the last 5 days....been running premium.

- got the 07 20 inch lincoln rims in, going to change this weekend if weather warms a bit.

Cool, hope it keeps shifting better and better and that you still like the ride with big big wheels. :)

finally got the 20 s on.........working on pics , got dark quick tonight..

changed the oil, 5w20, real thin, heavy oder of gas in oil....... found that a bit odd....

book says to use syntheic, but in other area says not required. wonder what it left the factory with ?

All engines should do the break-in with convention oil, so that is probably what it left with, maybe not. The Mobil 1 commercial says the Vette's leave the M1 oil which goes contrary to what I know about break-in.

Do you do alot of short trips? That will keep the gas from burning out of the oil. I wouldn't expect a new car to have the gas-in-oil problem though.

How do the 20's ride, I am sure they look nice, but how much did you sacrifice in ride quality?

Recommended is Motorcraft 5w20 synthetic blend, its about halfway between dino and synthetic in price. After about 10k on the odometer, I'd switch to full synthetic.

regarding the oil, vehicle sat at dealer lot by estimate 16 months. build date of 7/05. had only 50 miles on odo from pics on ebay listing. then driven to NJ, approx 600 miles.

i now have 2200 miles, all highway. nothing really short of a 50 mile one way trip....except maybe for a local beer run or 2 or 3 !

20 s and pirelli tires, better ride imo then the 18 michelins. tried different pressure s on michs...35, 33 and 30....harder tire. 98, 01 and 03 all had continentals.....real smooth imo compared to others.

funny, spare tire is a continental but all 4 corners had michelins.

pirelli s are smoother imo. even a tad more quite. got alittle wobble at 72 mph.

stopped at local lincoln dealer for balance, service said they wont balance under warranty since they re off a 2007... not original ..
so i m stopping at tire shop near work , they do alot of big rim/tire work.

next ?

where to get factory sirrus radio extra......radio has button for sat but not equipped....dealer i stopped at said 600 bucks for factory add on....like the oem idea for easy use.....
