Those are just colored bulbs. Nothing special about them and they aren't HID's. They are advertised as HID's because they have similar colors but they are not. HID's require a ballast to turn on and run and those don't. Those that you are looking at are actually worse lights than the stock bulbs unless you get some higher wattage ones and then it is highly reccomended that you upgrade your wiring with relays. They will work fine for a while but will more than likely burn up your headlight switch and or LCM on years so equipped. Us 90-94 guys have the 9004 bulbs standard. The 9007 bulbs look the same but have a slightly higher wattage (around 10 watts more) and we have to upgrade with relays to run the 9007's without problem.

Amazing how they all tell lies 100% too.

There is no such thing as a plug and play HID upgrade. HID is a high intensity discharge arc bulb, not a filament bulb.

And there are no DOT approved real HID aftermarket upgrade units either. They are only DOT legal if they were installed at the factory, which also means they are not legal if you grab a set at the bone yard and replace your stock units with optional factory equipment.

If you are unlucky enough to live in or pass thru an area where the traffic cops write you up for equipment violations, they can issue a citation for each illegal lamp, bulb or obscured reflector found on the vehicle.

all i did to my hid upgrade was change the bulbs and add the ballaster to the original wiring... the bulbs look just like and other car with factory hid

i will not get them because now i went to other car sites like this one for like mercedes mazda and other forums like this and seached for eurodezigns but they all say they work good for a month or two and just stop working....

so what do you think i should get? i dont want to waste 400 like my friend did, so what should i do for hids or where is a good place to get actual ones? my friend got them at a stereo store so they probably overcharged him......

I have an HID plug and play kit...it has an HID bulbs and ballasts. They are true HID but they aren't legal because they didn't come with my town car. If you look at the other forum about HID I have a video of my HID's.

Oh and if you get a real HID kit, the bulbs are only 35w Standard halogen lights are 45w. HID actually takes less power to use but they do have ballasts to first ignite them.

Dont get the colored bulbs: http://www.danielsternlighting.com/tech/bulbs/blue/good/good.html

Maybe get a kit like Woby had, I think his had defective high beams though.

Personally, I would get a HID projector kit, not made in China. It takes alot of work to fit though. I thought there are aftermarket HID headlamp housings for the '98+. I know they have them for the '98+ Vic.

I had the 4300k (bright white). Anything above that you will get a blue tint or some other color. I really want the projector kits. There is a website that will make them for you and install them but it's really expensive.

The Japanese Town Car has had projectors for a while now (at least on the 98-02 models. Hard to find any information (or pictures) on them though. Not having cornering lights would suck butt, too.

The reality of legal HID conversions is this: The HID capsule (bulb) and reflector fixture must be pronounced DOT-compliant as a SET, bulb & fixture. It matters NOT if your car came from the factory with HIDs, just that the matching SET of components are legally pronounced DOT-compliant. This is why a 93-95 Mark VIII can have the HID headlamps from a '96 Mark VIII LSC retrofitted legally. You could also take a factory HID headlight SET from a VW or Audi and install the whole set in ANY other vehicle in the world - with required sheetmetal changes to make the lights fit the new vehicle and have the proper "handedness" for the country you're driving in, of course - and those retrofitted light ASSEMBLIES would be street-legal in the ‘new’ vehicle. Taking rebased to halogen bulb base HID capsules to make the HID fit in the halogen fixture will NOT create legal lighting. Also, taking a D2(X) HID capsule and rebasing it to fit the HID fixture on a ‘97-‘98 Mark VIII will NOT give you street legal night lighting, in spite of what the peddlers on eBay say.

NOOOO! Just do what I did.

http://www.lincolnsonline.com/forum/showthread.php?t=48080&highlight=projectors Go down to the pics with the Projectors being installed. A real Hid system will give optimum light, lots of work but worth it.

I included Some of the process photos and final just for preveiw, it was alot of work but dam, these lit up everything, and they look cool of course. Way better than just changing the bulbs to HIDs. Don't mind the arrow in the second pic, that was from an old post.""""

Not sure but I think those are just the cords? I know the inside is going to be chromed so the entire thing will be chrome on the inside and will look great.
