how many miles too high?

Looking at 98 TC with 245k or so. Exterior and interior look great. I was wondering how much longer the car might last? Anyone got over 300k on the original motor and trans? Thanks.

You may be looking at a new driveline soon enough, most cabbies sell them off at about 225K. Depends on how much of a bargain vs. how much maintenance you afford/afford to spend your time on.

The engine should be fine for a while more, I've seen them on ebay with way over 300k with the original engine. I would just put some money aside for a tranny when it finally decides to go.

I would keep looking. My home builder got a 99 Town Car with 106k for $2800 from a realtor. I told him if he finds another one let me know. I know that was a fantastic deal, but you never know what you might find.
