Hello everyone - wonderful place you have here!!!!!!!

I own a 1999 Town Car and I just hit 100,000 miles, and wanted to know how hard it is to change the plugs in this baby?

They do not look fun to get to, I have only peeked at them so far.....just wondering if anyone has any tips for me before I begin this task?

Also - what plugs do you guys recommend?

Thank you in advanced,

Richard

Not too bad to change, use the factory replacement plugs and REALLY clean out the recesses with compressed air before you stick your plug socket in there. Otherwise all the dirt will drop into the cylinders and score the walls.

Forgot to add, engine has to be cold, and use anti-sieze on the plug threads and silicone dielectric grease on the coil boots.

^Good points! Its your choice on the anti-seize though, I don't recommend it. These later model heads have a tendency to blow plugs, so they are real finicky, the most crucial part of this project is tightening the plugs down with only 15-20 ft-lbs. AWSF32PP or equivalent double platinum plugs work great (Not Bosch +2 style).

OK - Will do.

Thanks for the input, and I will watch the amount of tightening torque....I assume it is because they are aluminum heads.

Thanks again.
