97 ford Expedition Temp control Blower

heater/AC control assembly 97 Ford expedition

when i use the manual temperature control the blower motor will only work on HIGH ,the lower settings will not work at all, any ideas what this might be ?

That sure sounds like the infamous Blower Speed Control problem...
We have a Tech Arfticle on that one, it features a Town Car, but I'm sure the mechanics are the same.

it was the relay switch located under the passenger side dash next to the blower motor. as you can see , it was pretty rusted out..
total cost was $14.83.
