Well, it's been along time since I've been on here, but I've missed you guys a lot! Two major life events have occurred: A ruptured appendix and, more importantly, I traded my 2004 Signature in on a 2006 Designer program car. Besides the astronomical note (due to the rollover of negative equity), I'm generally pleased with the car. Got it with 4K on it. Now pushing 10K.

But, of course, I have a couple of questions.

1) Lincoln seems to have done away with the "average speed" monitor on it's onboard computer. Not a big deal, but I always enjoyed using it to see if I could beat yesterday's speed getting to work (yeah, I know, I have no life). Is this true? Is it gone?

2) My Designer is equipped with voice command, and it has never been a more frustrating experience. Maybe it's my slow, Tenessee drawl, but I have to repeat commands MANY times before it seems to understand what I'm saying. Is there a sensitivity adjustment to fix this?

3) Radio. The manual makes an extremely vague reference to an equalizer (this is the THX Audiophile system). I can't find any such animal. Does anyone know where it is, or does it not exist at all.

4) Finally, are the designers at Wixom dislexic (please no offense to anyone who reads this that is). Most Americans are right-handed, and I like often to drive with my right hand in about the 10-11:00 position. That position completely covers up the speedometer. Why did they put the speedometer on the left and the much-less-used tach on the right? Strange.

Enough for now. It's good to be back on the forum. Will be even better to get back to work early next week. Wish me luck, guys.

Welcome back guys, good luck with the new TC and health! :D

Try driving with your right arm on the armrest and hand in the 2-3 oclock position, it is very laid back but only works with the armrest is in position. I have to drive how you explain in the Vic.

Voice commands. Whoever thought of these are ridiculous, people don't want to have to speak clearly, never mind to a car or yell to a fake voice prompt over the phone! I would turn off this useless feature if I had it.

Thats all my input for as little as i know about the newer cars.
