Anyway.... It may be a few weeks until I'll have the Lincoln down there... this coming weekend, I am probably flying down as the Town Car has some issue that makes noise int eh front end (A-arm bushings? dunno) then the weekend after that, I'll be fixing the car here, and the following weekend (2 weekends from this coming weekend) *IF* the car is fixed, I'll be driving it down.

for anyone interested the last meet we had showed 11 mark VIII's and 4 t-birds, we're doing it again and we're in tampa bay, maybe you guys can bump your date up and meet us and have a huge meet. here's my post from markviii.org and Lincolns of distinction


I'm gonna try it one more time, if there is no interest this time around, i wont bother again, sorry!
i want a get together, cook out and photoshoot. my buddy Rob is a photographer and is building a website to host race events and pretty much anything to do with cars. he will be there as well to take pics, he is awesome and has some nice equipment. the place will be Anderson Park on us 19 in tarpon springs, its very easy to find, it sits on the banks of lake tarpon and has plenty of pavilions and grills, its free, and has a large boat ramp for anyone who wants to bring a boat or jet ski. bring your fishing poles also if you want to fish. this would end up being a much more layed back place to have the meet them the last one we had, much more shade, lots of places to walk to, much easier parking and i believe you can have beer in this park with a permit, i will check into it, not that i want to promote everyone getting smashed, but i know how beer can make strangers feel a little more at ease when you dont know everyone. i'm gonna keep it simple with food, hamburgs and dogs. people can bring whatever they want, but i'm keeping it simple, getting together is more important then talking about food, there wont be any food if there is no people!! i figure by the middle of october we may finally get a break in the heat, its way to hot now to spend a day in the park outside!! anyone who wants to add anything to this feel free, lets actually make this happen this time guys, there are plenty of us out there in the state, we already know that, if you have to work that day, take it off now, then your boss cant say anything! no excuses this time, lets make it happen there is no reason we cant. chime in anytime. thanks.

i'm new to this board, i actually forgot i was a member, but im no stranger to the mark VIII community, i've been helping owners out with these cars since 99. when i got into selling parts for them, i wasnt into the cars at all, but after owning 4 of them and parting out over 400, i kind of like them now lol, kind of!

That sucks :rolleyes: Keep posting up days and dates/times. I had a conversation with Oldschool1 Saturday morning at our monthly breakfast meet. I'm not sure if it's the economy, if people are losing interest or they're just satisfied being (sort of) anonymous on a forum. <shrug> 4 people showed up and I was kinda down about it because I 'expected' more.

At any rate, we're going to have (like last year) breakfast meets 12 months a year. It was 8 degrees in Wilkes-Barre, PA this past February when we had a breakfast and almost as cold in Whitehall, PA when johnny came down from Massachusettes for a visit. If he can drive 5 hours for a lousy $7.00 breakfast, others can drive 45 minutes.

Forget the trophies.... come November to March when the car show season is on it's hiatus, I'll be climbin' the walls and counting the days until spring just so I can get back out there with other car nuts like myself and play with cars; to see what was changed to them over the winter; to see what's new in the "stables". To hang out with newly made friends!

Sorry, 'bout the rant. I know exactly how you feel. :( hang in there. That goes for anybody wanting to put a meet together!
