Yes, its true. I saw the newer front clip on an older Navigator. The truck was outside a local junkyard, but I didn't get a close look at it. Looked nice from 20ft away. Odds are the plastic trim differences from the fenders to doors looks terrible, but hey...it does interchange!

Yep, I have a picture I will post when I get back home of one from a month back on ebay. Now Will Gen 3 fit a Gen 2/1, I'm feeling hopeful. :D

GEN III will also fit. Uses the same doors, body as the GEN II...so I can't see why it wouldnt. :)

If you want a cool hybrid, then get a GEN2 Expedition, and throw a Mark LT front end on it.

They made it match up pretty good IMO:

Pro- I know its a new frame for '07 though, not sure (but hoping) that all they did was revise the rear suspension to idependent.

It was independent in 2003. The 07 revisions were mostly (if not 100%) to stiffening the rear portions of the frame. The body, doors, roof, etc are the same as 2003.
I have little reservation on doing a GEN III facelift on a GEN I.
Oh, and nice pics. Thanks for that. :)
