Hi,

My 1993 Executive Continental has been having tripminder issues for some time now... I took the system out of the dash (what fun that was!), took all of the bulbs out, used an eraser to clean all copper connections, and I'm headed out today to get all new bulbs... The problems? Intermittent beeping from the Message Center, which has now gone black (yet the beeping remains!) and dimming/flickering lights on the other side of the panel... No problems with the speedometer, fuel gauge, etc, though...

Is there anything else I should do, after installing the new bulbs, before I put the tripminder back in the dash?

Thanks!
Mary

check/resolder the connection on the 2 black connectors on the center (computer) PCB. that should solve about 95+% of all the problems, between what you already did, and the resoldering.

Thanks! What do you mean by 'resolder', though? My husband is a plumber and when I think of soldering, I think of blowtorches! :p

Take a trip to radio shack, 15 watt iron and a small roll of 60/40 rosin core solder. Hubby's prestolite is a little too big for this job. :)
