Doors continue to lock on their own.

Wierd thing... I'm guessing it's cold here and something is frozen or wet. The door locks continue to lock even when you are driving down the road. The first time I noticed it was when the car was parked in the driveway and the interior lights kept going on and off. I couldn't figure it out then, but I just took the car for an hour cruise and every 3 or 5 minutes it clicks trying to lock the doors even if the doors are already locked.

On a side note when I give the car gas in the driveway in park, the engine skips at about 4k rpm. Does anyone know what could be causing either of these?

start isolating door lock switches. I had the exact same problem, but mine happened when my moonroof leaked slightly on the passenger side door lock switch. take the switches off of the wiring harness(they may be a bit stubborn), i found that one of mine was quite corroded (green copper colour). The switches are cheap, just go to ford and order them. Also, rember to remove the switch , not cut off the wiring harness, i made that mistake and off to the wreckers i went. I would also do it on a warm day, the plastic piece that holds all of the switches in each door were brittly, and they cracked when i re-installed them.

what he said, probably water got in the drivers lock switch and as for the skipping at 4,000 RPM, sounds like the electronic rev limiter kicking in because there is no load on the engine.......
