I need to replace my driverside mirror, my question is, are they all auto dimming?

no they are not... i know atlest the first gen doesn't have auto dimming... but i know they have heated mirrors..... so yeah

The auto dimming mirrors look golden in color. They have two plugs on them.
They do have them for both gen cars...

I bought an auto dimming for my Mark off of ebay last September, and it was reasonable and the color actually matched mine. but I don't remember a price.

If you don't want auto-dim, I'm pretty sure the 92-95 Taurus mirror is the same.

Standard auto-dim on 1997-1998. As far as the earlier Mark VIII goes, it might have been an option, the inside automatic mirror was optional for the first few years.

The auto-dim glass looks a bit different, it is slightly colored even when not in the dimming mode, also the plastic surround around the mirror glass itself is very thick compared to the passenger side mirror. They're pretty obvious once you look for that thickness.

Pro, I'm with you on the cross-reference on the mirror for the early cars. The second generation Taurus/Sable mirror is the same, also 1989-1997 Cougar/Thunderbird mirrors. The Taurus glass is blue tinted like some imports are, so dimming or non-dimming isn't much of an issue if they wanted to use those. Heated was an option on the top models of those cars too, I think, but was never available on the Cougars.
