I have a 97 LSC and the crome wheels look nice from a distance but up close look terrible. (chrome is pitting, cracks in the chrome, pealing etc..)
My question is, Does anyone know of aftermarket wheels that look identicle or close to mine...The ones that I have are called wire something.....
I would get them from ford but I dont wanna pay that rediculous amount for them. I have seen them elsewhere as well and they still seem alittle expensive.. I like the look of the oem wheels....I listed a pic of the wheels as well... thanks in advance

If you like the wheels just get them replated locally at a chrome shop. They'll be plated better than the mediocre OEM stuff.

Really? Would that be better cost wise intead of purchasing new ones? Also, Not sure if I could get it done in NY.... Maybe I'm wrong i dunno.... Gotta look into that...:)

New wheels aren't cheap unless you find a local seller on eBay. And crappy OEM plating is still the same.

I bet you pay the same (or less) for re-plating and you get a more durable product in the end.

the painted version of those ten spoke directionals doesn't fare much better. Hey, they're the most basic utilitarian object on the car save for tires, lol!

I recall a few years back in a Sears auto center, they had a chrome directional wheel that was very much evocative of the Mark VIII directionals and thought if I ever had to replace a wheel, I'd get a set of those. Of course I do not rememember brand and model number since this was a "in case of" thing for me to go looking at wheels. The good thing is this: 16" wheels are going to be quite affordable since the market focus is on huge
20-something wheels now. A set of 16X8's is probably to be had for the price of one brand new Motorcraft chrome wheel if you shop it around.

Those are my favorite wheels for Mark VIIIs.
