My outside door handle has broken on the hinge area on the outside on the bit that opens the door, I have a spare and was wondering if theres a way to just replace the handle its self or if i have to do the whole lot and if so any tips please?

I would say you have to replace the whole unit. It's molded and you cant just install the handle. I had to do mine after a parking lot attendent broke it during the winter. There is a tech artical on the job.

I just got the pleasure of replacing mine, it's an entire assembly less the keypad. I figured it was a bit complex, not to mention the painting required, so I had my LM dealer do it while I was in for other things. It came dearly, lol! Part F8LZ-6322405-AA Handle Assembly $147.76 plus $287.00 labor which included sending the car over to body for the paint work. I can only say this, besides the obvious convenience of getting into the driver's seat the conventional way, it works perfectly (as does everything inside the door, lol!) and the paint work makes the other side look bad. They did a flawless job at a cost.
I have had an issue with the doors sticking to the gaskets when it rains, I don't know if that is common or not, but I'm certain that is why my handle gave way and I knew better, that's the sad part.
