I have a 97 Mark V111 LCS & was wondering first did the MATS have LCS on them? Next also did the CAR itself on the body have the lettering LCS on the drivers side at all? Thanks Great site'';)

It's LSC, for Luxury Sport Coupe.
Yes, the original mats said so, as did the original trunk badge. If neither your mats nor your trunk say LSC, then you may not have one. Do your seats have solid leather or perforated leather? And do your doors & bumpers have any chrome trim on them?

97-98 bumpers never had chrome inserts, base or LSC. The only body distinction was side moldings and monochrome grille, tail and light trim as well as the directional wheels being chromed on LSC's only. Chrome octastars were optional on either vehicle at extra cost.
Front floor mats included from the factory may or may not have embroidered logos, and may or may not have heel pads. The mats sold as genuine Ford accessories were embroidered with logos and many people received those as well. In other words, all floor mats would be correct save for LSC embroidery only on LSC's, Mark VIII embroidery only on base vehicles.
If you're not sure about whether an LSC is genuine or just re-badged by the owner, look for these things:
Perforated leather seating inserts as mentioned before
Chromed 10-spoke directional wheels
body-color grille, headlight trim, side moldings (no chrome,) taillight panel and tail lights.
True full-on dual exhaust vs. the quasi-dual exhaust on the base car. (The base exhaust meets in the middle then splits off into dual mufflers and exhaust tips)
Someone might go so far as to repaint their grilles, etc and add a badge, but nobody would have changed all the rest due to cost, that's a fact.
To answer one of your questions directly, "LSC" appeared only in these places on the 1997-1998....the passenger side of the tail light reflector panel where it replaces "Lincoln," the floor mats if you were lucky enough to get embroidered ones and on the window sticker...lol.

Phillip, in my hunt for LSCs, I found every model of wheel on every car. The chrome 10 spoke directionals were an LSC-only wheel from the factory, but I've seen many a base Mark with them (meaning many folks located these wheels and went for a factory upgrade).

The chrome directionals on the LSC's were correct from 1995-onward, in fact you'll find a 1995 part number cast into them from any year 1995-1998, paint or chrome. I'm sure lots of wheels got switched or upgraded over the years, hey LOTS of parts have been switched since Ford discontinued most of our replacement stuff, lol!
I think this was more about Heavy being able to correctly identify an LSC, hopefully all this info was helpful to them.
